]]>If you prefer creamy milk that closely mimics the texture of dairy milk, oat milk and soy milk are excellent choices. They can add a luxurious feel to your cereal.
If you enjoy a hint of nuttiness, almond milk is a fantastic option. Its mild, slightly sweet taste complements many cereal varieties.
For milk that won’t overpower the taste of your cereal, unsweetened soy milk is a reliable choice due to its neutral flavor.
If you like a touch of natural sweetness, oat milk and rice milk offer a naturally sweet taste that pairs well with most cereals.
The sweetness level of alternative milk can vary. You can find sweetened and unsweetened versions of each type. Buying unsweetened varieties and adding honey or maple syrup can be a great option. This way you can control the sweetness of your cereal.

This recipe puts a playful spin on a classic vanilla donut by incorporating Fruity Pebbles cereal into the batter. The result is a colorful, kid-friendly treat that’s only made better with the addition of a vanilla glaze and Fruity Pebbles topping.
The only way to improve a cereal full of marshmallows is by mixing it with butter and even more marshmallows. This fun take on Rice Krispie Treats calls for Lucky Charms in place of puffed rice cereal. It easily comes together with only three ingredients to create a fun and colorful treat that’s magically delicious.

Oreo has developed a bit of a reputation for its weird and wacky flavors in recent years, but its Peeps variety is a delicious treat for Easter snacking. The cookies are made with a pink marshmallow-flavored filling with a subtle granulated sugar texture reminiscent of traditional Peeps.
If Froot Loops and Lucky Charms had a vanilla marshmallow-flavored baby, it would be this cereal. It contains a mix of crunchy O’s and bunny and chick shaped marshmallows in fun pastel colors perfect for Spring.

]]>The fact of the matter is that the original, tasteless, regular Cheerios are pretty healthy—but that doesn’t mean Honey Nut Cheerios fall under that same category. Sure, you can give yourself a pat on the back for not eating Lucky Charms, but Honey Nut Cheerios shouldn’t be considered “healthy” just because they have the word “Cheerios” in their title.
A similar argument can be stated about most Quaker Flavored Instant Oatmeals. Oatmeal at its core is usually healthy, but many Instant Oatmeals that are offered with flavor varieties, such as maple and brown sugar or apple and cinnamon, are less healthy because of those flavors.
This one is tough to write, because Cinnamon Life is just a wonderful cereal inside and out. But there’s no way around it. It’s not the healthiest cereal around, or at least not as healthy as it seems. Due to its “bran-like” appearance and colorless facade, it seems like healthier than it is—but we wouldn’t recommend eating it every day.

]]>We’re not sure what it is, but when things are smaller, they are immediately cuter. Case in point: puppies and your baby cousin. And now, some of your favorite cereals have cottoned on by introducing smaller versions of themselves.
“Sometimes the best new innovation is the smallest one,” declared Mindy Murray, who is the senior marketing communications manager at General Mills. “There’s such a love right now for full-size things that have been shrunk into mini versions, and we realized we could do the same with our cereals. We can’t wait for families to try the cutest new way to experience their favorites one big (little) bite at a time.”
The select cereals which will be receiving the tiny treatment include Reese’s Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Trix. So, picture adorable round shapes in your breakfast bowl. And the best part? Because they’re so little, you can fit several on your spoon at once!
Despite the cereal being mini, boxes of the stuff are, in fact, full-size. They are set to retail for $3.99, while family-size boxes are priced at $5.25.

]]>Regular Cheerios claim to be part of a well-balanced diet, and they aren’t lying. Regular Cheerios, the kind without any added flavors, is actually a pretty healthy cereal. But don’t fall for the trap that Honey Nut Cheerios is the same, because it’s got plenty of more added sugar.
Life—the cereal, not the real thing—gives off this vibe that it’s wholesome and healthy. While the regular Life Cereal is somewhat healthy, Cinnamon Life isn’t so much so. And let’s be real, Cinnamon Life is definitely the tastier one, so that’s a bummer.
Anything with the words “oat bran” in the title sounds like it must be pretty darn healthy, right? Turns out that this isn’t exactly true. In fact, one website put this cereal on their list of “Unhealthiest Cereals of All Time.”

]]>One of the healthiest cereals you can eat is Shredded Wheat. Whether you like the kind that comes with a big piece that you have to tear apart in the bowl, or the type that comes with a bunch of smaller pieces (like most cereals), it really doesn’t matter. They’re all pretty healthy, full of fiber, and have great nutrition. Oh yeah, and it also happens to taste delicious.
Pay close attention to what we wrote in the parentheses above. Cheerios are indeed a very healthy cereal if you actually buy the original kind. That means not Honey Nut, not Cinnamon, not Frosted, not Apple Cinnamon, or any of the other varieties that they promote. Those are loaded with sugar, and you really won’t get a truly healthy experience unless you get the original, which is also very tasty.

But there are countless cereals that are loaded with sugar, and there really is no reason to be eating it in the morning. We’re looking right at you, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, and Trix.
It’s important not to get caught up in thinking that sugary cereals have more health benefits than not, because this can lead to bad health in the long run. Stick to the truly healthy ones, and you should be good to go. Some other healthy cereals include Special K, Rice Krispies, Raisin Bran, and much more.

]]>Milk is an essential ingredient in cereal (unless you like it dry, like a heathen, but you do you…). Unfortunately it isn’t always around. You may find that the milk has gone bad, it’s finished, or your favorite milk alternative is out of stock. Sure, you could try eating your cereal with other liquids, like juice, but who really wants to put themselves through that first thing in the morning?
That’s where Kellogg’s, the century-old cereal manufacturer, has come to the rescue. The company has now developed a product where you simply need to add water to enjoy your breakfast.
Kellogg’s Instabowls feature powdered milk, with the water turning it into liquid. The product has reportedly been in the works for two years.
“In recent years, there has been a huge trend toward portability for food, especially as busy schedules and life’s everyday curve balls prevent traditional sit-down meals,” said Chris Stolsky, marketing director at the Kellogg Company. “We created Kellogg’s Instabowls as an easy solution for the ‘anytime cereal break’ so you can now bring your favorite Kellogg’s cereals with you wherever life takes you and not have to worry about milk, dishes, or clean-up.“
The Instabowls are available in Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, and Raisin Bran Crunch.
