Our Favorite Plant-Based Jerky

From minimal menu options to added costs, (seriously, why do we still have to pay extra for avocado if we remove the meat and cheese from a dish?) following a plant-based diet can be challenging. The last thing you should have to worry about is finding healthy and tasty snacks.

While we love raw veggies, sometimes we’re in the mood for something a bit heartier. When these cravings strike, vegan jerky is one option that we know will hit the spot. Here are a few of our favorite brands.

Moku

With the goal of protecting and preserving the planet, Moku founder Matt Feldman partnered with two chefs to create a vegan jerky that’s as sustainable as it is delicious. It’s made from organic king oyster mushrooms, which are high in fiber and several B vitamins. We especially love the Hawaiian Teriyaki flavor.

It’s Jerky, Y’all

Texas isn’t exactly renowned for its vegan food scene, so we were pleasantly surprised to discover this plant-based jerky brand by Texas native Brett Christofell. It’s made from organic soybeans and flavored with local ingredients such as chipotle peppers and prickly pears.

Louisville Vegan Jerky Co.

Louisville is another vegan brand based out of a southern state, and they offer an impressively wide range of jerky varieties. Along with a few classics like Pepperoni and Maple Bacon, they’ve got flavors like Jamaican Jerk and Sweet Chili Garlic. All of their products are made with non-GMO soy and flavored with real juices and spices.
