Caprese Salad Two Ways

Caprese is one of the most beloved dishes that came out of the Italian kitchen. The salad itself is simple, but the flavors are big and bold. Caprese is also very flexible, so recreating it is easy and still keeps the delicious integrity. Try either one of these dishes for your next party or just an evening snack and you will not be disappointed.

    Classic Caprese

The classic caprese salad is made up of the freshest tomatoes sliced into thick or thin pieces, whatever you prefer. Then, a ball of mozzarella is cut into slices about the same size as the tomato slices. Arrange the tomato slices and mozzarella alternatively. Put leaves of basil in between them as well, drizzle over good olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and season with salt and pepper.

    Burrata Peach

This variation is super bright and creamy, and work really well with the traditional caprese flavors. For this salad, cut up juicy peaches, and break apart some creamy soft burrata. Combine them together on a platter and stick in tons of basil leaves and some capers. Pour over the same seasoning as the classic: good olive oil, balsamic vinegar, flaky salt and freshly cracked pepper. Enjoy!
