Having a few lemons lying around in your kitchen never hurts. When roaming through the supermarket, it can be easy to pass over the lemons, because there isn’t anything particularly obvious that they’re used for. Or better yet, they’re rarely the main attraction. But here are three scenarios in which they shine so brightly precisely because they’re not the star, but rather a brilliant supporting player.
Cooked Fish
One of the most common uses of a lemon is with cooked fish. There are many ways to do it, but perhaps the most popular is to slice up the lemon and place it on top of the fish before putting it in the oven. The results are always delicious.
Salad
Another great use of lemon is to squeeze it over your salad. If you’re trying to eat more salad but find yourself adding too much dressing, using a lemon can help you avoid that. It adds plenty of taste to the salad without being full of sugar.
Tea and Water
Putting lemon in your tea, or water for that matter, is another great use for lemon. Similar to the salad, it gives your tea or water a much-needed boost of flavor without bringing unhealthy sugar into the mix.
