The clocks have turned back, the days are shorter, and nights are colder, but we’ve got you covered with some warm and vibrant flavors to keep you toasty. Keep reading to see what you should have this Thanksgiving.

Turkey

Obviously, no Thanksgiving is complete without a turkey! Turkey is juicy and flavorful and can be cooked with a melange of vibrant flavors. We recommend switching it up this year with a new recipe!

Green Bean Casserole

If you’re from the North, you’re probably rolling your eyes right now. Green bean casserole is a staple in southern cooking and is sure to delight your guests this season, even if they have never had it. This delightful recipe will be a wonderful addition to your festive turkey.

Sausage and Apple Stuffing

It sounds a bit overkill to stuff stuff with more stuffing, but trust us on this one. Make good use of some of those leftover apples from this fall and whip up this recipe alongside your turkey!

Butternut Squash Pie

We’ve incorporated this recipe on the menu because it’s a little off the beaten path. If you’re feeling like sticking to tradition though, whip up a pumpkin pie or mash up some sweet potato.

Cherry Pie

End your night and cleanse your palette with a delicious and tart cherry pie. This pie will complement the rest of the meal and will taste great with a side of freshly brewed coffee!

Whether you’re preparing a Thanksgiving turkey or simply hosting some friends for a dinner party, the way you prepare the turkey can make or break the entire meal. Here are some of the best ways that you can season your turkey for success.

Dry Brine

All you have to do is rub your herbs of choice and some salt all over the turkey before wrapping it in a plastic bag. Then, put it in the fridge and allow it to refrigerate for two days before serving.

Use Butter

In order to get the flavor to really sink in, sprinkle some salt and seasoning in softened butter. Once you mix it in, spread the seasoned butter both over and under the turkey skin to even the bird evenly.

Glaze It

Use a glaze to add some sweetness to your turkey. One type of glaze you could try is a mix of maple syrup, orange juice, and fresh sage. Make sure to baste your homemade glaze evenly across the entire turkey.

Hosting Thanksgiving dinner is a big responsibility, but it doesn’t have to be terrifying. The holiday is one that comes with a selection of classic dishes, and as long as no one leaves hungry, all should be good. So how do you make sure that you have enough Turkey to feed everyone without being left with leftovers for weeks?

A Birdful of Bones

It wouldn’t feel like Thanksgiving without turkey. As the host, you want to ensure that everyone gets a decent amount of the star of the show. If you’re buying a whole turkey, remember that a lot of it is actually bone, cartilage, and portions best left for stock, as opposed to meat.

Death to Dryness

As a protein, turkey tends to be on the dry side. There are several ways to go about keeping the bird moist, including both wet and dry brining. Another method is to separate the turkey into portions to help everything cook evenly. The thighs and legs, for example, need longer to cook, in order to be tender, than the breast.

Size Does Count

Sizing a turkey can be overwhelming. A good rule of thumb when it comes to serving is to have 1-1 ½ pounds per person. If it sounds like a lot, remember about the bones and other bits.

Stuffed turkey is one of the most delicious and hearty meals at this time of year. But it’s not always easy to know how to stuff a turkey, let alone make it one of the most delicious turkeys ever.

Try out these top tips and start practicing for Thanksgiving, so you can blow everyone away!

Gather Ingredients

To make the stuffing, you will need 4 coves of garlic, 1 large shallot, finely chopped 1c parsley, 2 tablespoons of fresh rosemary, 1 tablespoon of grated orange zest, 4 tablespoons of olive oil, salt and pepper, skin on boneless 1 lb turkey breast halves, and gravy.

Prepare Herb Mixture

After preheating the oven to 425°F, combine garlic, shallot, parsley, rosemary, orange zest, 2 tablespoons olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper. Mix together.

Prepare Turkey Breasts

Next, butterfly and pound each breast. Try not to tear it before setting it aside. Massage the herb mixture onto each breast, leaving 3/4 in the breast.

Starting at the short end, roll each turkey breast up and lay the skin on top. Tuck and wrap it under the edges and tie with kitchen string about 2 inches apart. Transfer to baking tray.

Roast and Serve

Brush each breast with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, season with 1 teaspoon of salt and roast for 50 minutes. When the internal temperature reaches 160°F, remove string, slice on a serving plate and serve with gravy.

Did you know that you just need to add one ingredient to your Thanksgiving turkey to make it the juiciest, tastiest ever? Keep the tradition alive and exciting by adding a twist to your regular turkey and we guarantee everyone will ask for more of it.

The ingredient we’re talking about is pepperoni. You know pepperoni as a popular pizza topping, but it can be so much more if you give it a chance. Pepperoni is a type of Italian salami that contains pork, beef, and seasoning, which makes it perfect for making Thanksgiving turkey that’s not dry and bland.

You can use pepperoni to enhance the flavor of turkey in more than one way. Our favorites include barding and stuffing. Barding is a technique in which you wrap the meat in fatty meat (like bacon, or in this case, pepperoni). Stuffing doesn’t really need an explanation, just make sure you do it evenly. Enjoy your delicious turkey!
