Have you ever gone to use your bread, only to find that the loaf had gone rock solid because you forgot to close the packaging? Unfortunately, it’s a feeling we know all too well. The good news is that there’s actually a way to revive the bread once it’s gone stale! So unless your bread has gone moldy too, there is hope for your loaf! (If it has gone moldy, I’m sorry to say all hope is lost…) Here’s how you fix that stale bread.

Step 1: Get Your Bread Wet

This sounds weird, but trust the process. Take your loaf and run it under the faucet until the entire crust is wet (but not drenched).

Step 2: Put Your Bread In The Oven

Next, you’re going to set your oven to 300 or 325 degrees Fahrenheit and pop that loaf in for about 5-10 minutes. Keep an eye on the bread and when the crust is nice and crusty, you know it’s revived!

Step 3: Enjoy Your Bread’s Second Life

That’s right, you did it! You successfully revived a loaf of bread! Crusty on the outside and moist on the insidewhat could be better? Now go and enjoy that deliciously warm and toasty bread you just made for yourself.

Removing corn from the cob is both time-consuming and messy. You are trying to get all of those stubborn kernels while watching them fly around your kitchen each time you make a sudden movement. It’s something that prompts most people to just leave it all and buy canned corn instead. But this might not be the best approach.

There is one simple hack that will help you remove corn from the cob in no time. There is some mess still included, but you’ll finish a batch in a matter of minutes.

Simple Hack for Removing Corn From the Cob

As with all good cooking hacks these days, the one for removing corn from the cob quickly comes from TikTok. It is showcased in a video posted by @denisemellott300, which received 14 million views and 1.1 million likes in a short period of time.

The clip shows the user’s son removing corn kernels at an amazing speed by using an angel food tube cake pan turned upside down. He is simply pushing the corn through the tube, with the pan collecting all the kernels and the cob just sliding straight into the sink.

Note that you’ll end up with a wet shirt if you don’t use an apron while doing this, but it is surely worth the time you will save. Check out the demonstration below.

Do you ever wish that you could do something in the kitchen faster? Or with less effort? Or that a process could be made more efficient? Well, that’s what these food hacks are for! Made to make your life as a home cook easier, you’ll want to incorporate these following food hacks into your daily cooking routine.

  • Use coffee in chocolate-flavored baked goods to enhance the chocolate flavor. Don’t worry, you won’t taste the coffee!
  • Chill wine or beer quickly by wrapping the bottle in a damp paper towel or dish towel, then placing in the freezer. Within ten minutes, it should be cold.
  • Add mayo to boxed cake mix to boost the moistness factor significantly.
  • Speaking of mayo, spread it on the outside of your grilled cheese sandwich before frying to get the best flavor and crisp.
  • Cook rice, pasta, quinoa, and other starches in broth in order to give them more flavor.
  • When you need to measure honey out, first spray the measuring cup or spoon with non-stick cooking spray so it will slide out easily.
  • Store your lettuce or other leafy green vegetables with a paper towel in their container to make them last longer.

We’re finally able to visit movie theaters again, and popcorn is one of the best parts of the experience. If your movie theater allows you to butter your own popcorn, you can try this viral hack that makes them so much better. Nothing beats the deliciousness of evenly distributed butter throughout your popcorn bucket, and once you try this way, you’ll never go back.

TikTok user @colleenlepp shared a video showing how you can make your popcorn perfectly buttery using only a straw. The video, which has millions of views, shows her putting a plastic straw in the middle of the popcorn bucket. Once it’s aligned with the butter pump, it’s not too difficult to make it go through the straw and reach the bottom of the bucket. You can then move the staw around and distribute butter the way you like it.

“It takes a minute lining it up, but once you do, you are good to go,” says Coleen. She learned this trick from her aunt when she was little and has been using it ever since. And once it reached TikTok, it was destined to become viral as we all love a good life hack! Watch the video below.

Microwaving food isn’t rocket science, but learning a couple of useful hacks can help you do it faster and more efficiently. That’s exactly the idea behind a viral microwaving trick that recently went viral on TikTok which shows how to reheat pasta in record time.

A Viral Trend

The brilliant hack was shared by TikTok user @howdoesshe, who specializes in life hacks and saving tips, and has almost 70,000 followers on this social media platform. If you’re always struggling to properly heat up your pasta, her microwave hack is worth the shot because it will help you do it faster than ever.

Instead of just piling your pasta onto a plate and expecting magic to happen, this clip suggests you should spread the food out in a ring shape with a hole in the middle. By doing so, your pasta won’t be cold in the center and it will reheat in no time.

This hack is brilliant because radio frequency microwaves have difficulty reaching the middle. Food placed at the center of your dish wouldn’t be properly warmed up anyway, so you can avoid placing it there altogether. In addition to working wonders with pasta, you can also use this hack to warm up other foods, such as rice, potatoes, and grilled veggies.

Add Salt

If your food tastes bland, it probably just needs salt. The key to flavorful food is to season with salt at every stage of the cooking process and at the end.

Add Cold Butter to Sauces

To make rich, creamy restaurant quality sauces—mix in cubes of cold butter before serving them.

Deglaze Pans

Rather than scrubbing off the burnt food on the base of pans, deglaze them with wine or stock. This washes the pans but keeps all the flavors in there. Anything you cook in the future will then keep tasting better and better.

Let Meats Dry

The trick to crispy and succulent meat is to dry them completely out before cooking them. You can do this by patting them with paper towels or letting them air dry.

Cook Eggs on a Low Heat

The best way to cook eggs so they’re not dry, rubbery or brown is to make sure the pan is not too hot when you’re cooking them. For perfect eggs, cook over a low heat.

If you can’t always eat out, shop for these kitchen staples.

Thinking about how much you spend at the grocery store each week? Sometimes it feels like the cashier must have made a mistake. While there are a few ways to save money at checkout, purchasing the raw ingredients to make your favorite dishes can go far and above your financial goals, even on a small scale. These food basics can go a long way towards meal planning and major savings.

Do Your Own Prep

Cut a whole carrot into sticks for a snack, and use the shavings on a salad or wrap instead of buying them packaged shredded. You’ll get a more robust taste and possibly dollars off your total at the register.

Sliced mushrooms are great with things like pasta, omelets and hamburger but they can wilt and go bad in the fridge pretty quickly. Buy a whole mushroom and slice it yourself when ready to cook to make it last.

There’s so much you can do with potatoes, and they’re cheap if you buy them before they’ve been prepped. Want homemade hash browns for breakfast? Don’t let the convenience factor sway you in the freezer aisle — shred some russets and throw them on a skillet in some oil (best of all, you can adjust the salt and oil content, for your health).

Bagged ceasar salad is nothing compared to one you prepared yourself with fresh romaine lettuce, which you can buy for a fraction of the cost.

Cheap Foods That Pack Major Nutritional Punch

Shredded cabbage is a great source of fiber and vitamin B1, and at home in a variety of dishes including dumplings, stir fry and cassarole. The fresher, the sweeter, and you won’t pay nearly as much.

Rice, which can be used to complement a wide variety of meals, costs pennies when bought in bulk compared to the boxes with serving sizes. Worried you might mess it up on the stove? Invest in a simple rice cooker and get peace of mind.

Saving on your weekly grocery budget is as simple as taking some extra time to cut up your own veggies and fruits. Get out there and save!
