Dans Le Noir is Much More Than a Restaurant

Dans Le Noir offers not just brilliant food but a unique dining experience.

When you order at Dans Le Noir, what you’re going to get will be a surprise. You select your style of menu (vegetarians don’t panic!) and then the talented chef Rafal Zaremba will bring you a meal that you’ll struggle to identify… because you won’t be able to see it.

The concept of the restaurant is that guests will dine in pitch dark and be guided to their tables by visually impaired waiters. When we say pitch darkness this is no exaggeration – you will not be able to see anything.

The experience not only sharpens your senses and enables you to experience food and wine in a new, heightened way. It also stands to challenge your viewpoint on the world and increases understanding of the blind. Additionally, darkness brings you a fabulous new way to socialise as free of visual clues, all judgement fades and everybody gets chatting to everyone.

If you want to take the experience even further, you can head up stairs to the new ‘Otra Vista Social Club’. The unique bar concept will make you familiar with the basics of sign language to communicate with other guests and order your drinks. It’s a great way to increase your understanding alongside participating in a unique, exciting experience.

Head down to Clerkenwell Green in London to embark on your sensory journey. Not local? Not to worry. There are Dans Le Noir restaurants in Paris, Barcelona, Melbourne and more.
