Amazing Homemade Pizza Starts With This Pizza Dough Recipe

Sure, it’s easier to buy premade pizza dough when you’re making your own pizza at home, but it’s not nearly as tasty. Making pizza dough doesn’t have to take hours; you can use this pizza dough as a base for your pizza just 30 minutes after the dough is formed. We’re sure you won’t go back to buying dough after trying this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup warm water (110 F)
  • 1/4 ounce active yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 3/4 cup unbleached flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing

Instructions:

  1. Mix together water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let it stand until foamy for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil and stir until dough forms. Transfer to a lightly floured surface.
  3. With floured hands, knead the dough until it’s smooth, elastic, and tacky but not sticky, for about 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl brushed with oil, turning the dough to coat it evenly.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand in a warm, draft-free place until it’s doubled in size, for about 30 to 45 minutes.
