Cabbage is one of the essential fall veggies, and it’s incredibly easy to add it to your daily menu. There are so many types of cabbage that it’s impossible not to find the one you like, and these five are a good place to start.

Green Cabbage

The first type of cabbage that comes to mind is green cabbage and it is the most popular variety. It’s available all year long, and it can be used in everything from salads to stir-fries and coleslaws.

Red Cabbage

If you want to add a bit more variety to your salad, mix green with red. Their shape and flavor are similar, but red cabbage will win you over with its vibrant color.

Savoy Cabbage

Commonly known as curly cabbage, this variety is pretty similar to green cabbage, but its leaves are more loosely packed and its taste is much milder.

Napa Cabbage

One of the Chinese cabbage varieties, napa cabbage also has a slightly tender flavor and it’s instantly recognizable thanks to its long, light green leaves.

Brussels Sprouts

Often described as tiny cabbages, Brussels sprouts also belong to the cabbage family and you should definitely eat them more this fall because they’re incredibly nutritious and versatile.
