This Spiced Ginger Brew Will Ward Off Colds This Winter

Feeling a little under the weather? This warming ginger infusion will help! Made with ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, honey, and lemon, it has natural anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

While you might be used to drinking ginger, honey, and lemon tea when you’re sick, this spiced brew is truly next-level! The long-simmering time allows the carefully chosen herbal ingredients to really infuse, resulting in a powerful, full-flavored drink that will get you feeling ready to take on the world.

Top Tip: If you don’t finish all your ginger brew, allow it to cool and pour it into a glass bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week for a refreshing glass of gingery goodness whenever you fancy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks 
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper 
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 4 cups of freshly boiled water

Instructions:

  1. Add the ginger, cinnamon sticks, turmeric, and cayenne to a medium-sized pot.
  2. Cover with freshly boiled water.
  3. Bring back to a boil and then simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and then add the lemon juice and honey to taste.
  5. Remove the whole spices and ladle them into mugs.
  6. Breathe in the healing steam and enjoy every revitalizing sip!
