Dr. Bronners, the company known worldwide for making both bar and liquid soap from ethically sourced and “clean” ingredients since 1984, has recently announced its newest product: chocolate. While it may seem strange, it’s actually a very natural move for them. They already sourced many of the ingredients that go into their soaps, such as palm kernel oil, from farms that practice sustainable agriculture. Many of these farms also produce cocoa, and when the CEO David Bronner learned of this, the idea to create a new kind of chocolate was born.
All of the ingredients are produced by fair trade farms in Ghana and are free of toxic chemicals. The company is also known for paying their domestic employees a fair wage as well as offering them benefits like health care. It’s chocolate you can feel good about eating!
They’ve decided to dub their coconut sugar-sweetened dark chocolate with the moniker “Dr. Bronner’s Magic All-One Chocolate.” With flavors like Crunchy Hazelnut Butter, Salted Dark Chocolate, and Smooth Coconut Praline, we’d say “magic” is a pretty accurate description. You can find their products at ShopRite as well as health food stores near you. Just head to the chocolate section and look for the iconic Dr. Bronner’s label.
