If you find yourself hungry in Tel Aviv, you’re in luck because you’re in the midst of an Israeli street food experience you just can’t miss. Eyal Shani is a self-taught Israeli chef who first opened a fine dining restaurant in 1989. In 2011, Shani opened his first contemporary restaurant, Miznon and has since expanded to five restaurants in Tel Aviv alone. He has developed internationally with restaurants in Paris, Vienna, Melbourne, New York, and most recently, London.
Known as the King of Cauliflower, Eyal Shani has become a household name for the art of roasting cauliflower. He has created a monopoly of local Tel Aviv street food that’s hard to beat.
There is something unique about Shani’s presentation and approach to famous dishes and street food, focusing on colorful dishes and a unique presentation style. Bloomberg reviewer described the food as “simple but epic”. Additionally, world-famous critic Gault Millau named Miznon one of the top restaurants in Israel. It is through this simple approach that Shani is able to create a welcoming environment for everyone.
