Making bread is a great winter activity, giving you something to do when you’re stuck at home because it’s cold outside, and something warm and yummy to eat to make your soul happy. But it can be pretty difficult and advanced, especially if you have no experience. That’s why we’re here with the easiest bread recipe you’ll ever find using only four ingredients and requiring no kneading. It’s a place to start to get you going on your bread baking journey. Here’s how to make it.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of all-purpose flour or bread flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 package active dry yeast or quick rise yeast
  • 1 3/4 cups of warm water

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and dry yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and stir until the combination comes together into a thick, shaggy, sticky, lumpy dough (this is normal).
  3. Cover the bowl and let it sit until the dough doubles in size, for about an hour.
  4. Once it has risen, sprinkle flour over the dough and your hands. Pull the dough out of the bowl and gather it into a smooth ball. Transfer it into a greased bread pan.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375 F.
  6. Cover the pan and let the dough rise again for another hour.
  7. Score the top of your dough with a sharp knife. Place the pan into the oven.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour until deep golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for an hour before slicing.
