Ingredients

  • 1 jar tomato sauce
  • 4 ounces shiitake mushrooms
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 package of any type of pasta

Instructions

Start off by putting a pot of water along with a couple of pinches of salt to boil on high heat. While you do this, go ahead and slice your shiitake mushrooms into small, bite-sized pieces.

When the water for the pasta is boiling, put it into the pot to cook al dente. Follow the cooking instructions on your pasta package and set aside to drain.

While your pasta is cooking, add the sliced shiitake mushrooms, one tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1.5 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1.5 teaspoons of garlic powder to a pan on medium heat. Sautee the mushrooms until they are soft and tender.

As you do this, heat up your pasta sauce along with the sauteed mushrooms and with the remaining salt, oregano, and garlic powder in a small pot.

Finally, put the cooked noodles back into their original pan and add your mushroom pasta sauce. Stir, serve, and enjoy!
