Pancake day is a traditional holiday celebrated on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, when people eat pancakes right before they eliminate all rich food for Lent. Here are some reasons you should join in too this year.

Pancakes are versatile and delicious that can be enjoyed in multiple different ways. The basic recipe requires flour, eggs, milk, a pinch of sugar, and salt. Of course, you can add cream or vanilla extract to the batter.

Pancakes can be enjoyed with sweet or savory toppings, depending on how you like your pancake. The most obvious are Nutella and strawberries or lemon and sugar. In contrast, others prefer a more savory pancake, which usually tends to be bacon and cheese or a BLT but in a pancake form.

Pancake pans, or crepe pans, are a particular type of cookware specially designed to make pancakes and crepes. They are noticeable due to their flat, circular shape and low sides, making them ideal for flipping the pancake. However, they are unnecessary, and you can easily create a perfect pancake using any pan you have in the house.
