Nicole Fung Encourages You to Eat Outside the Box

Nicole Fung’s love of food is interwoven with her love of travel. The co-founder of food, travel, and lifestyle platform That Food Cray !!!, Fung initially launched the online platform as a way of documenting her travels.

That Food Cray !!! started as a passion project,” she relayed in an interview with Suitcase Magazine. “When I first started writing, I honestly wasn’t expecting anyone to read it. I had just moved to Hong Kong from Canada and wanted to document my travels as well as everything I ate along the way.”

But what began as an outlet to express her love for food and her adventures has turned over the years into a global brand with over 90k fans on Instagram alone. Alongside her husband Eugene Kan, Fung now shares her unique food experiences with others, both in Hong Kong and elsewhere.

Her goal is to eat outside the box, and she encourages her followers to do the same. “My family is from Hong Kong, so I’ve always felt a connection to the city,” says the Chinese Canadian blogger, who now lives in Hong Kong.

“It was my second home; now it is home. Hong Kong is a very transient place and is extremely multi-cultural. There are people from all over the world, which makes the food selection very diverse. You can find everything from classic French to halal Chinese food.”
