There’s nothing more adorable than having your lovable pet hanging around with you at all times. But although the level of cuteness is hard to ignore, there are sometimes when we need to express discipline—and that’s definitely true when it comes to kitchen rules. Our pets, especially dogs, love nothing more than to hang around the kitchen while we’re in there, usually because they’re hoping they’ll score a treat. But when you’re cooking something hot, it’s important to make sure they stay far away.

They Need Supervision

In many ways, having a pet is like having a kid. Just like you wouldn’t want your child in the vicinity while you’re frying something and oil sparks are flying, so you should keep your pet away as well. They’re constantly moving around, and it’s important that you stay vigilant while they’re edging closer to your dangerous kitchen tools.

Precautions

So what can you do to help the situation? There are a few precautions you can take, such as tying your pet on a leash. It’s not fun doing it, we know, but ultimately it’s for their own safety. Another thing you can do is set up a partition where they can hang out with you up close, but with a barrier that protects them.
