We’ve all been there. You’re getting amped up to prepare for yourself a tasty, elaborate breakfast. You crack a few eggs, whip them up, and even dice up some peppers for good measure. You start cooking your eggs, but eventually, you realize something unfortunate: your eggs have started to stick to your pan.

If this is happening, have no fear, because there’s an easy way to prevent this from happening.

The Obvious Ways

There are two obvious ways to avoid eggs sticking to your pan—and another lesser-known tip. Firstly, are you adding enough butter or oil to your pan? This can prevent stickiness, but the flip side is that it’s not particularly healthy. The other obvious method is to buy a non-stick skillet—but let’s be real, they can be pricey and who has time for that?

Making It Hot

If either of the two previous methods isn’t an option for you, here’s another secret to making sure your eggs don’t stick to your pan. Before you add the eggs, make sure your skillet is nice and hot. Oftentimes, people add their eggs while the skillet is still heating up, and this is a large reason for the eggs sticking. By making sure it’s already hot, your eggs will harden up before they have a chance to stick.
