A Simple Guide to Making Pad Thai

Pad Thai is a delicious Asian dish which is simple to make and does not require too many specialist ingredients. Here is a very basic guide to making the yummy Thai cuisine that leaves plenty of room for you to play around with flavors and ingredients.

The Noodles

The first step is choosing the right noodles. Wide rice noodles are traditionally used in the dish and they cook quickly. Boil your noodles in a pot until al dente and drain.

The Sauce

For the sauce, whisk together 1 tbsp of fish sauce, 1 tbsp of soy sauce, a lime’s worth of juice and 2 tbsp of brown sugar. Add cayenne pepper according to how spicy you want your dish to be.

The Yummy Goodness

In a nonstick frying pan, gry up the veg and fish you have chosen for your dish. Our top choice is red bell pepper, onions, garlic, and shrimp. Season with salt and pepper to taste and make sure the shrimp is cooked until pink.

Bringing It Together

Push the shrimp and veg to one side of your pan. Next, pour in an egg and scramble until it is about to set. Mix this in with the shrimp mixture and then add your cooked noodles. Toss until combined and then add in your sauce until the noodles are fully coated.

Season and Serve

Garnish your dish with spring onions, parsley and roasted peanuts. Keep some chili sauce nearby for those who need it.
