You can make a delicious falafel burger out of chick peas. Drain the chickpeas thoroughly and pulse in the food processor until lightly broken up – don’t turn them into paste. To flavor, add garlic, onion, corriander and chili powder to taste. Mould the breadcrumb texture mixture into patties and fry for 5 minutes until they are golden and crisp. Serve with hummus or tahini.
Alternatively, you can crush chickpeas in a bowl with a potato masher to create a thick paste. Add paprika, sweetcorn and seasoning then BBQ on each side until crisp.
