If you’re not the main chef in your family, you can still help out in the kitchen. Perhaps you’ve decided that you’re terrible at cooking food, and accepted that you’ll never be able to make anything good. Even if that’s true, that’s still no reason to not help the person who is doing all the cooking. Here are a few easy things you can do to help the chef of the house.

Work the Chopping Board

You don’t have to be a chef to know how to dice a few vegetables. Chopping up things such as mushrooms, garlic, tomatoes, and the like, is easy but time-consuming. Help the person who’s cooking by chopping things when they need to be chopped.

Wash the Dishes

When a chef is cooking a large meal, they go through many dishes, and the sink usually fills up pretty quickly. You could be a massive help to the person cooking if you just washed the dishes as they fill up. You might think it won’t make a big difference, but they’ll thank you profusely for it.

Last Minute Grocery Runs

Sometimes a chef realizes at the last moment that they’ve run out of a particular ingredient. This is now your moment to shine. Run to the grocery store and bring your beloved chef what they need. You’ll be a hero!
