How many times have you wanted to relax with a glass of cold wine after an eventful day only to realize that you forgot to put the bottle in the fridge? This scenario often ruins the mood completely, but that doesn’t have to be the case anymore. There are a few ways to chill your wine fast and enjoy it at the right temperature in no time. Check them out below.

Ice and Salt Bath

The fastest way to chill your wine is to put it into an ice and salt bath. Fill the bucket or a bowl with cold water and add ice cubes and plenty of salt to it. Submerge your wine bottle in the bucket, and the wine will reach the perfect temperature in a matter of minutes.

According to world-renowned sommelier Brian McClintic, the wine is chilled quicker with cold liquid than cold air from the freezer. The salt, on the other hand, lowers the freezing temperature of the water. His tip is to stir the water occasionally if you want to make the process even faster.

Damp Towel Hack

If you are not in the mood for bath-making, then there is another neat trick that will allow you to quickly chill your wine in a freezer. Just take a damp towel and wrap the bottle with it before popping it into the freezer. This way, the wine will cool down significantly faster compared to placing the bottle without the towel.

The towel will probably be stuck to the bottle after you take it out of the freezer, but there is an easy solution for this. Just run the bottle under a stream of warm water, and the towel will peel off.
