Tangy lemony sumac, earthy marjoram, oregano, and other spices combine to become the amazing Middle Eastern spice blend that is Za’atar. Za’atar is the easiest way to elevate any dish and will delight and surprise your taste buds every time!

Roasted Potatoes

Roasted potatoes can be so boring if you don’t spice them up. Za’atar kicks up regular potatoes a few notches simply with its presence. Toss your potatoes with oil and za’atar, roast to perfection, and you have a side dish that is so interesting and complex.

Pita Chips

Pita bread is a Middle Eastern staple and can so easily be manipulated. For this recipe, just cut the pita into triangles, drizzle on olive oil and then use as much or as little za’atar as you’d like. Pop them in the oven for a few minutes and you have a totally out of this world chip!

Yogurt Sauce

Why not take your za’tar pita and dip it into a za’atar dip! Yogurt and za’atar are a classic combination in the Middle East, especially with Lebanese yogurt called labneh. If you can’t find it, you can always use plain Greek yogurt and you’ll get a similar effect. The best way to prepare this is by simply serving the yogurt with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of za’atar.
