You’d Want to Follow Singapore’s Food-Influencer

If you’re anything like us—and as you’re here, we’re guessing you are—you’re probably on the lookout when it comes to viral food content. But why not broaden your horizon?

This week, we’d like to introduce you to Singapore’s most celebrated foodie, Brad Lau. Known online as LadyIronChef, Lau has amassed some 600k followers on Instagram thanks to his short videos showcasing some of the most appetizing dishes (because who can say no to that?!).

His website and Instagram page also include restaurant reviews—but he leaves out star ratings. “I do not give a star rating for my reviews, as I believe food is subjective,” he remarked once in an interview with HungryGoWhere. “I always encourage my readers to try things with an open mind. ‘Food’ is definitely the most important criterion—I will eat at a place as long as it serves good food.”

“I always make it a point to inquire everything about the restaurant—from its chef, to its dishes, to the philosophy behind the cooking and its operating hours,” adds Lau, explaining that this information allows for a comprehensive post-session review.

But when it comes to the actual reviewing, he keeps it simply and snappy. “I try not to be too factual, as I want the people who have not tasted the food before to be able to relate to the descriptions.”
