You know that feeling when you buy a bunch of herbs and aren’t exactly sure what to do with them? If using all your herbs at once seems like a mission impossible, freezing them is your best bet, and you can use one of these three popular methods to get it done.

Sealed Bags

After washing and drying your herbs, you can arrange them on a sheet pan and then put them inside the freezer. Once the herbs are frozen, you can take the sheet out of your freezer, place them inside a sealed container or Ziploc bag, and make sure to label each one.

Ice Cube Trays

You can also freeze your herbs inside ice cube trays in a few short steps. Chop your herb leaves, place them inside ice cube trays, and top each one with a drop of oil before freezing them. This method can also be repeated with water.

Pureed Herbs

This is another popular technique that utilizes ice cube trays. Instead of chopping your herbs, you can simply put them inside a food processor with a little bit of oil and blend until smooth. Once you get a thick paste, you can pour it inside ice cube trays and let them freeze.
