Ingredients
The ingredients are essential for a boil: crawfish or shrimp, sausage, potatoes, lemon, butter, and corn. But, what makes a boil a boil are the spices you use: whole allspice, whole mustard seeds, dill weed, cayenne, bay leaves, and salt. Combined, these make the absolute best cajun flavor.
Method
- Use a large pot and bring the water to a boil. Add in the spices and red skin potatoes and wait until they just start to soften, about 8 minutes.
- Add in the corn, wait a few minutes, then add the sausage.
- Once the corn is just almost done, squeeze and throw in a lemon, add in the crawfish or shrimp for a few minutes.
- Drain, pour over melted butter and more lemon juice and enjoy while it’s hot!
