2023 is just a month away and lists of trend predictions for the upcoming year are showing up everywhere. Yelp released its own list of expected culinary innovations that will take the world by storm next year, and some of them are pretty wild.

Some of the trends that made it to Yelp’s list this year were pretty easy to predict. Mocktails have been a mainstay on these kinds of lists for years, so it wasn’t a shocker to see Yelp include them again, and they’re also predicting slushies will make a huge comeback in 2023.

These aren’t the only trendy drinks we’ll be seeing everywhere pretty soon. Yelp is also predicting the rise of the Mexican cocktail Michelagua and Japanese Hojicha tea. TikTok’s beloved dirty sodas, which originated in Utah, are also here to stay.

Experimental dining also made it to Yelp’s list of 2023’s biggest trends. It’s all about giving unique dining experiences a shot, from underwater restaurants to dinner theatres.

The list also included some pretty unexpected choices, such as oxtails and NY favorite The Suprême, which became a viral craze thanks to the Lafayette Grand Café and Bakery in New York. Yelp is also predicting a comeback of fast-food favorites that we all know and love, such as McRib and Happy Meals.
