You probably already know that eating burgers, pizza, or potato chips after completing your workout is not the smartest idea. But there are other foods and drinks you should try to avoid after exercising, and here are some of them.
Soda
You’re probably thirsty and craving sugar after an intense workout. But try to avoid drinking soda, or any other sugary drink for that matter, after finishing your workout. Soda is packed with calories and added sugar, and even though it’ll boost your energy for a while, you’ll probably feel pretty bad for drinking it later.
Raw Vegetables
Yes, veggies are super nutritious and healthy but that doesn’t mean they’re a good post-workout meal. Our body needs plenty of carbs and protein after exercise in order to refuel and recover, and we certainly can’t get enough energy by eating only raw veggies.
Spicy Food
Eating spicy food in moderation is healthy, but not immediately after a workout because it’s hard to digest. Your body doesn’t have enough energy after a long workout and that’s why choosing foods that are easy to digest is very important.
