Hard-boiling eggs is not very difficult. All you have to do is put some eggs in a water-filled pot, boil them for several minutes (depending on the desired result), and remove them from the heat. The difficult part is to peel them after, because most of the time, that’s nearly an impossible task. It can get very frustrating! So are there any tricks you can use to make the job easier next time?

Cold Water is Your Friend

One thing you can do is to put the eggs in the water when it’s already hot. When you put them in cold water and let everything boil, the egg white bonds to the membrane and the shell sticks to the rest of the egg. Peeling gets so much easier this way.

Poking a Hole

Poking a tiny hole on the shell is another handy trick. It helps release the gas from the egg and prevents it from cracking while boiling. The hole should be made on the bottom of the egg, and you can use any small needle that’s convenient for this job, like a thumbtack.

Combining the Two

Combining these two methods will leave you with eggs that don’t crack and peel perfectly every single time! Are you going to try this the next time you’re boiling eggs? We hope so!
