If you enjoy watching cooking shows, then we’ve got an excellent one for you. Courtesy of Netflix, Cooked is a documentary that explores the roots of cooking like never before. Michael Pollan hosts the series, and that’s especially fitting because he wrote the book that the series is based on. Here’s why you should watch it.

It Tackles The Nature of Cooking

We don’t mean nature in the metaphorical sense—we mean the literal natural elements of the world. The series is comprised of four hour-long episodes, each one titled after one of the four natural elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Each episode analyzes how cooking is rooted in these very basic elements of nature, and in the process reminds us how good cooking is for our health.

It Has a Nostalgic Element to it

Cooked delves into the very origins of cooking, and how it all started in the first place. It further discusses how we all have a certain place in our souls that is somehow connected to the art of cooking. By the end of it, the series does a great job explaining how beneficial cooking is to our mental health, and bringing us back to our natural state of being.
