Vegan Brownies With a Wholesome Twist

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oat flour
  • ¾ cup applesauce (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • 1 small ripe banana, mashed
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • A splash of non-dairy milk (oat milk and coconut milk work well)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line the baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix applesauce, mashed bananas, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until combined. Add non-dairy milk
    for a smooth consistency (as needed).
  5. Pour the batter into the baking pan evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out dry.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 15 minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Once cooled off, cut into squares and enjoy!
