What makes quitting regular caffeinated coffee so hard is that most decaf coffees taste nothing like the original drink. There is hope though for those of us who want to quit caffeine but just can’t get used to the taste of any other hot drink besides coffee.

This new hope is called dandelion root coffee, which is a mixture of dandelion root and various herbs. The best part about this root coffee is that you can make it home, here’s the recipe below.

Ingredients

You’ll need 8 dandelion root tea bags, half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, pure vanilla extract, and ground ginger. You’ll also need half of a cup of sorghum or maple syrup, a pinch of salt, 8 tablespoons of soft unsalted butter and 12 cups of boiling water.

Preparation

Beat the butter, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, sorghum, and salt in a big bowl until it looks creamy. In a separate heat-resistant bowl pour the boiling water, add the tea bags and let them lie in the water for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, fish the teabags out of the water and throw them away. Now all you need to do is gradually pour the boiling tea mixture into the butter mixture while whisking it until it’s well mixed.  Serve and enjoy immediately!
