Golden milk is a traditional drink from South Asia that has been used for its therapeutic properties for centuries. Turmeric is a magical spice that has so many benefits, mostly concerning anti-inflammatory effects. Turmerics benefits are greatly increased when cooked with fat, so traditionally whole cow’s milk is used. However, if you’d prefer a non-dairy version, then adding a teaspoon of coconut oil at the end can make a big difference. Including black pepper also makes the turmeric much easier to absorb. Once cooled, this drink can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. This recipe serves 2.
