It was once correct to say that guacamole was “trending” around the world. However, it’s been popular for so long that we believe it’s surpassed the title of a mere trend. It’s a downright staple in our society, and for good reason. Not only are avocados one of the healthiest things you can eat, but they’re delicious as well. Guacamole is the optimal spread for lovers of Mexican cuisine, and now we’d love to share our simple recipe of it with you.
Is Your Avocado Ready?
Before you even think about making guacamole, you need to make sure that you have fresh avocados to use. If the avocado is too hard, that means you won’t be able to mash it up and therefore it’s no good. If it’s too mushy, it might’ve gotten rotten. You need to wait for that sweet spot in between where it’s just mushy enough to be made into guacamole.
Now that you’ve got your avocado, scoop out the green innards and place them in a large bowl.
Veggies and Seasonings
There are countless veggies you can put in guacamole, but tomatoes and onions are among the most popular. Take a tomato and a red onion, dice them up, and place them into the bowl with the avocado. Sprinkle on some salt and pepper to taste, and a dash of lemon juice.
Mashing It Up
Now it’s time for the final step: mashing it up. The idea is to mash up your avocados to make it into a smooth dip, but people differ on how “smooth” they want their dip. If you’re someone who likes your guacamole to be more clumpy, we’d advise you not to mash it up for too long. Only you know when you’re done! Serve chilled and enjoy!
