Try These Healthy Pasta Alternatives

Pasta is one of the ultimate comfort foods that most people can’t imagine living without, but it’s not as healthy as we’d like to believe. If you’re trying to eat healthier and cut the carbs from your diet, try these three alternatives instead.

Zucchini Noodles

Cutting your vegetables into spirals—preferably with a spiralizer if you have one—is one of the best ways to replace pasta. You can create these long strips which resemble noodles with all sorts of different veggies, but zucchinis are one of the most popular options.

Cabbage Noodles

You don’t even need a spiralizer to transform a cabbage into noodles—simply slicing it will do the trick. If eating cabbage noodles on its own doesn’t sound tasty enough, you can also add thin-sliced carrots, onions, radishes, or beets to the mix.

Spaghetti Squash

After cooking your squash, you can easily separate it into strings with a fork and it will look just like spaghetti noodles. In addition to being eaten on its own, spaghetti squash can be used in all sorts of different dishes, including casseroles.
