Anything from black beans, to lentils, chickpeas, and beyond, all fall under the category of legumes. These are perfect ingredients if you want to lose some meat from your plate because they all provide a lot of protein and take on flavors super well.

Though you should not have them too often because they have a lot of soy and often additives, every once in awhile a meat substitute is a great addition to your plate. It’s still much better for you than real meat, and it really gives you the same kind of flavor from your favorite cuts of meat.
