We have all seen desserts disguised as everyday objects before. But few of them have shocked the internet like the raw chicken cake by TikTok user Tatum Parden.
Parden decided to make a vanilla-flavored cake that looked like a raw chicken leg and shared the process with her followers. The clip, which immediately went viral amassing more than 1.8 million likes, caught internet users off guard. Most of them didn’t know whether to feel disturbed by the tasty treat that looks like an inedible food item or to applaud the 19-year-old student for her skills.

It turns out that this is exactly what Parden wanted to achieve.
“I chose to do raw chicken because it’s one of the few things that both doesn’t look suspicious in the fridge but will also make you physically ill if you eat it,” Parden shared with Newsweek. “Two birds with one stone.”
Parden later went one step further and even marinated her raw chicken cake with a caramel sauce before baking it in the oven.

But despite its unappealing look, Parden says her cake is perfectly edible. And possibly even tasty, but most of us probably wouldn’t dare to check that out.
