Cold brew coffee is a go-to staple in the kitchen during the warm months of summer. This refreshing drink is a perfect morning starter or afternoon pick-me-up that will keep you cool and refreshed despite the hot weather outside.

Making cold brew isn’t rocket science, but there are some things that you should do if you want to make a truly delicious batch of the drink. Here are some tips to follow.

Use Coarsely-Ground Coffee

One common mistake that people make while making cold brew is using finely-ground coffee beans. This is then difficult to filter out while preparing the final product, and often leaves you with undesirable solid material in the finished drink.

Stir Often

Cold-brew must steep for at least 16 hours (see next tip!) but that doesn’t mean that you should put it in your refrigerator and forget about it while it’s brewing. Instead, try to stir the drink every 2-4 hours in order to ensure that all of the liquid is equally imbued with coffee.

Allow to Steep for at Least 16 Hours

Finally, be sure that your cold brew is left to steep for at least 16 hours before filtering out the coffee grounds and enjoying the finished product. Cold brew is meant to be enjoyed strong, and if you don’t allow enough time for the drink to brew, it will be weak and not flavorful.
