Three Things to Do With Stale Bread

Sometimes you go to the store and by a baguette with the sole intention of making garlic bread that night. However, things come up and as the baguette stays in the bag untouched, and there comes a time where you either need to throw it away or do something with it.

But, there is still hope! There are plenty of recipes to use stale bread with, so don’t miss out!

Bring it Back to Life

Before you try any of these recipes, try to bring your bread back to life. Wrap a damp paper towel around the bread and put it in the microwave or just wet it a bit and put it in the oven for a few minutes. That should soften it on the inside and keep it crunchy on the outside.

Panzanella Salad

This Italian dish is supposed to be made with old bread, so this is the perfect recipe! Slice up tomatoes, red onions, and cucumbers. Cut the bread into cubes and put it in with the vegetables. Drizzle in balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper and toss well.

French Toast

French toast is the perfect vehicle for stale bread. Just slice it up and soak it in a mixture of eggs, milk, and cinnamon. Fry until golden brown and enjoy!
