Some foods are just built for the purpose of lounging on your couch and popping into your mouth easily and practically. Popcorn is made for this exact reason, as anyone who’s ever been to a movie theater can tell you. But not all popcorns are made the same, and this spicy barbeque version will make your mouth water. Care to check it out?

Ingredients

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/3 canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons paprika

Getting Things Popping

Got your ingredients? Great! Now let’s dive in to actually making this tasty treat. If you have an air popper, pop the kernels in the air popper. If you don’t have one (which most people don’t), put the kernels and oil in a pot with a closed lid and cook them over medium heat. As the kernels are cooking, shake the pot around so that the kernels mix and receive equal heat distribution.

The kernels should start turning into popcorn in around two to three minutes. When the popping process is done and all you have is popcorn in your pot, turn off the fire.

The Spice of Life

Transfer the popcorn into a large bowl to prepare it for the seasoning process. While the popcorn is still toasty, sprinkle it with the barbeque and paprika seasonings. Mix until the spices have been evenly distributed.

You’re popcorn is officially done and ready to serve!
