New to baking? This is the quickest, easiest bread recipe around. No kneading, no rising—just toss the ingredients in a bowl, mix and bake! If you’ve never made bread before in your life but always wanted to, this fool-proof recipe is a great place to get started.

Spelt is an ancient grain, related to wheat, barley, and rye. Wholegrain spelt flour is packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, as well as plenty of gut-boosting fiber. It will give your bread a delicious, nutty flavor and soft texture, perfect for toast, sandwiches or just enjoying spread with some creamy salted butter.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups wholegrain spelt flour
  • 1 cup mixed seeds (try a combination of pumpkin, sunflower, flaxseeds, or chia seeds)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried yeast
  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix the flour, seeds, and yeast in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the warm water, mixing until you have a thick batter.
  4. Oil a 2lb loaf tin and add the mixture.
  5. Scatter the top with some more seeds.
  6. Bake for 1 hour.
  7. Leave until completely cool before slicing and enjoy!
