Dutch ovens are pretty convenient. You can use them for all sorts of cooking tasks, from baking bread to cooking stews and soups. But despite this, people rarely use them to their full potential.

French-Belgian cookware maker Le Creuset recently shared a hack on their social media that will change the way you use your Dutch oven. It turns out that you can bake pot pie crust, or any other type of crust for that matter, directly on the lid.

Dutch Oven Pot Pie Hack

The Dutch oven pot pie hack, originally shared by chef Justin Chapple, begins with cutting the dough in a circle using the lid as a cutter. The dough is then placed on parchment paper, brushed with egg wash, and topped with onions, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Next, Chapple covers the Dutch oven, which has pot pie filling inside, with parchment paper, and tops it with an inverted lid. The dough is then placed on the inverted lid and baked that way. What you get is a perfectly crispy crust that you can place on the pot pie filling.

The hack got quite a lot of love from social media users, and when you try it yourself, you will see why.
