This Grandma Tip Will Help Your Remove Excess Grease from Your Soups and Stews

Soup and stews are perfect for winter. Not only are they delicious, but will also get you a bit warmer and make it easier to survive the cold weather. That is, of course, if you don’t lose your appetite because of all that grease floating on top.

More often than not, your soup or stew will have some excess grease accumulated on top. While this doesn’t mean anything is wrong with it, some people can be slightly turned off by this occurrence. If you are one of them, you’ll be happy to know that there is a simple hack that can take care of this issue in a heartbeat.

Hack for De-Greasing Soups, Stews, and Sauces

The de-greasing hack was shared by TikTok’s favorite grandma Barbara Costello aka @brunchwithbabs. In a clip posted on the popular social media platform, Costello takes a stainless steel ladle and fills it with ice. She then sets in on top of her greasy sauce, and the magic starts happening. The grease gets attracted by cold and sticks on the outside of the ladle, where it can be easily removed with a paper towel.
