This Chorizo Pasta Dish is Delicious

Satisfy your taste buds with the bold and savory flavors of this wonderful chorizo dish that goes great with pasta. This easy-to-make recipe combines the smokiness of chorizo with the richness of tomatoes and a hint of spice for a mouthwatering pasta experience.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 a pound of penne or your favorite pasta
  • 1/2 a pound of chorizo sausage
  • 1 tin of diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sliced chorizo until browned. Remove excess oil if necessary.
  3. Add chopped onions to the skillet and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the diced tomatoes with their juice. Add dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet, coating it evenly with the chorizo and tomato mixture. If needed, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
