If you love barbeques and are planning a cookout with your closest friends and family, then you might be interested in cooking a scrumptious dish that is sure to leave them impressed. Here is how you can cook a cajun butter steak that will make your cookout one to remember.

  • 2 pounds tri-tip steak
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Parsley

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, bourbon, cajun seasoning, garlic, mustard, olive oil, soy sauce, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Toss the steak into the bowl and allow it to marinate for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat your grill on high. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 10 minutes until the bottom side is charred. Flip the steak and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Take the marinade and pour it into a small saucepan. Boil over a medium-high heat. Whisk in butter until melted.
  4. Baste the marinade onto the steak and serve with parsley.
