We all had mothers who told us to eat our vegetables so that we’d be healthy and strong, but how many of us actually believed them? The fact of the matter is, veggies are great for our immune systems—but these are the ones that are leading the pack with their incredible benefits.
Spinach
There’s a reason Popeye the Sailorman eats spinach all day—it’s because it’s darn good for his immune system. This tasty green leaf not only has ample vitamin C, but it’s also filled with antioxidants.
Carrots
Carrots are a popular vegetable, and for good reason. Not only is it incredibly tasty, but this orange veggie has a large helping of vitamin A, making it a major friend to your immune system.
Broccoli
Broccoli is probably the quintessential vegetable that gets thrown under the bus when it comes to children not liking vegetables (other than perhaps brussels sprouts). But Broccoli is actually one of the healthiest veggies you can find, improving your immune system with ample doses of three different vitamins: A, C, and E.
Red Bell Peppers
Red bell peppers are another excellent immune system booster, mainly thanks to their large supply of Vitamin C. In fact, there’s around twice as much Vitamin C in red bell peppers than in citrus fruits, which is saying a lot!
