These Healthy Eating Rules Are Actually Just Myths

Figuring out the right way to eat is not easy and if you’ve done your research, you’ve probably seen plenty of “healthy eating” rules that you supposedly need to follow in order to do it right. The good news is that some of the most popular rules are completely unnecessary and here are three that you can stop following right now.

“Don’t Eat After 6 PM”

For many people, not eating after a certain time makes sense, but others follow this rule and stay hungry. This doesn’t have to happen. Your lifestyle may have you staying up late and you don’t need to stay hungry for 6 or 8 hours before going to bed.

“Sugar From Fruit is Bad for You”

While fruit contains sugar, it’s also an important source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. If you’re craving something sweet, fruit is your best choice. Your body will absorb the sugar from it slower than it would with processed sugar, keeping your blood sugar levels stable.

“Carbs are Bad”

All food groups have their role in your life, and no healthy person needs to cut out every single carb (or anything else). It’s important to learn about different foods that contain carbs so you can pick those that will keep you full longer, like grains, beans, and starchy veggies, instead of those that pretty much come with empty calories, such as white flour pastry, pasta, etc.
