Having an opened pack of bacon in your fridge is a perfect excuse to eat more of it. However, if you want it at its best quality every time you return to that open pack, you should put some thought into the way you’ll store it. Here are the best ways to store an opened pack of bacon that will prevent the bacon strips from drying out and getting tough.

Wrap it in Plastic Wrap or Aluminum Foil

You might be tempted to keep the bacon in the original pack, but even the best packaging solutions are not efficient in keeping the bacon strips intact when open. The thing you want to do is to minimize the bacon’s exposure to air and moisture that could cause it to go bad or lose some of its qualities.

Glass Container

Glass containers like jars are surprisingly efficient in keeping the bacon intact. They are great in keeping the air and moisture out while being resistant and easy to clean and repurpose.

Ziploc Bag

Finally, placing bacon inside a Ziploc bag, squeezing out the excess air, and sealing it will also do a great job. It is a convenient method that protects the bacon strips while allowing quick access to them whenever you need them.
