Mac and Cheese is like everybody’s favorite auntie. Most people get excited to see it at a holiday dinner, and it fits in seamlessly wherever it goes and never fails to give its true flair. It’s time to pull together what makes this flavor tick, which is why we’re going to give you this amazing recipe right now.

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/3 cup grated yellow onion
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1-ounce uncooked large elbow macaroni
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 1 /2 cups milk
  • 1 3 /4 cups heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 ounces extra-sharp yellow cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces sharp white cheddar cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F or 175 degrees. Prepare pasta based on the package’s directions for al dente.
  2. Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a boil over high heat. Once the water starts boiling, stir in the macaroni, and return to a boil. Do not cover the pasta while cooking. Stir continuously until the macaroni is cooked through but still slightly firm. Drain it properly.
  3. Combine the sour cream, butter, and cooked macaroni in a large baking dish. Stir in the cheddar cheese. If you have some tomatoes, you can add them on top. Season it with salt and black pepper.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then mix the macaroni and cheese thoroughly. Continue to bake until it turns light brown and bubbly. It should take over 15 minutes. You’re done!
