The Best Healthy Frozen Treat

When you want to eat healthier, sometimes it’s hard to give up sweet treats. There are so many ways you can indulge in some sweets without loading your body with processed chemicals or sugar. One of the greatest gifts from nature are sweet fruits, but sometimes just eating plain fruit isn’t enough to satisfy a sugar craving. This is why you need to try this dark chocolate frozen banana treat next time a sugar craving hits! 

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Sprinkle of sea salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Slice your banana into ½ inch slices. 
  2. Roughly chop dark chocolate and place into a heat-safe bowl.
  3. Boil water in a saucepan and rest the bowl with chocolate over the boiling water (option to add coconut oil to the chocolate to help with creaminess). 
  4. Constantly stir chocolate as it melts to prevent burning or sticking to sides of the bowl.
  5. Once chocolate is completely melted, dip banana slices in one-by-one. Place on a tray lined with parchment paper. (Option to sprinkle sea salt on slices before the chocolate hardens.)
  6. Place the tray in the freezer for 1 hour and enjoy your deliciously sweet frozen treats!
